We listen, act, and transform
At Obsidian Counseling I understand that mental health is just as vital as physical health. The significance of addressing trauma, residual anxiety, and mood struggles is paramount in our journey towards well-being. I believe in the power of healing the mind just as we would heal the body; both are crucial for leading a fulfilling life.
My mission is to provide a judgement-free space where individuals can feel safe to explore their mental health challenges. I strive to meet each person where they are, recognizing that everyone's journey is unique. Through understanding, compassion, and support, I aim to facilitate healing, enabling individuals to achieve their best lives. My style is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I work with clients from all walks of life, including providing culturally competent and LGBTQIA-affirming support.
Together, let's embrace the healing process and work towards a brighter, healthier future.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University, which I completed in 2013. Since then, I have dedicated my career to the mental health field, focusing primarily on providing services to adults and adolescents who are navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. I am passionate about building strong, supportive connections with patients and empowering them to create lasting, positive change in their lives.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have garnered valuable experience, including being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and I am currently in the process of obtaining EMDR certification, to further enhance my therapeutic skill set.
I'm also bilingual in Spanish and welcome Spanish-speaking clients into a space where language is not a barrier to healing.
